CONDOMS & OBLIGATION TO WEAR A CONDOM
Condoms protect both sex workers and their customers against sexually transmitted diseases. That’s why their use should really be a matter of course for everyone.
Obligation to wear a condom
Since the introduction of the Protection of Prostitutes Act there is an obligation to wear a condom for sexual worker customers.
It is not true that sex workers regularly have to get themselves tested for HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, dispensing with the need for a condom!
Condoms are safe if they are used correctly
With condoms, it is the correct size that matters: If they are too small, they rip too quickly. If they are too large, they can slip off too quickly.
Condoms have an expiry date. Don’t use them after this date! Don’t store them in a warm place (for instance in your car) or in your purse (friction caused by coins, body heat!)!

If you have a mishap with a condom, contact the Department of Public Health (Gesundheitsamt) or the AIDS-Hilfe.
If it doesn’t work out using a condom!
With some men, condoms don’t seem to work properly, and their penis becomes limp when putting it on. There’s several things you can do against this:
- Have an urologist establish any medical reasons for this!
- Alcohol decreases your “stamina”!
- Try to relax and don’t put any pressure on yourself.
- Had some bad experiences with condoms? Then try a different brand, practice their use and try to view condoms as a part of the erotic game.
